Eminem’s daughter Hailie Jade will not watch one of his music videos ever again

Eminem might have a long list of iconic tracks and videos to his name, but his daughter refuses to watch one of them ever again.

Hailie Jade has been the subject of much of the rapper’s work over the years, with one of the latest songs sending her a heartbreaking message in the event of his death.

The music video for ‘Temporary’ dropped last night (3 October), featuring moments of Hailie’s life, including Eminem crying on her wedding day.

But while this new release might be pretty sweet – there’s even the news of the rapper becoming a granddad – the ‘Somebody Save Me’ video was too much for Hailie.

On her Just a Little Shady podcast, the 28-year-old said: “Speaking of things I watched this past week, which I guess I’ll say watched, but I refused to watch again — the ‘Somebody Save Me’ music video is out and I did watch the thing.”

The emotional clip shows footage of her as a child while her dad apologises for not being there for her when she was little. He blames substance and alcohol abuse for missing out on her growing up.

“Another pill as I start to spiral / Message to my daughters / I don’t even deserve the father title / Hailie, I’m so sorry / I know I wasn’t there for your first guitar recital,” Eminem raps.

“Didn’t walk you down the aisle / Missed the birth of your first child / Your first podcast, lookin’ down, sweetie.”

Hailie did also open up about ‘Temporary’ following its release on the new The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) album back in July.

On the verge of tears, she said it made her realise ‘how bad things were’.

“But now as an adult in hindsight it’s so scary to think about and I think that’s why I get emotional,” she said. “I will say if you’ve ever lost an addict or loved one, I feel for you.”

During the track, the father-of-three attempts to put her at ease, telling her that life is going to be difficult, but ok, after he dies.

At the beginning of the song, we hear an old recording of a conversation between the pair, when she was a kid.

The intro goes: “A lot of people ask me, am I afraid of death? The truth is, I think what scares the me most is not being able to say all the things.

“I wanna say to you when I’m no longer here. So this song is for Hailie, for when that day comes. Where is Hailie? Where is she at? This ain’t Hailie. Who is it?

“It’s a monster.”

In the song, he then raps: “Look after Eleana, Stevie and Uncle Nate / And, sweetie, be strong; I know I was your rock, and I still am / Saying goodbye is just not ever easy / Why you crying? Just stop / Hailie, baby, dry your eyes, this is not forever.”

Fresh Eminem content is here and the rapper is proving that music videos are still relevant.

With Slim Shady seemingly killed off, the 51-year-old has shown his softer, vulnerable side as fans reckon it’s the first time they’ve seen him ‘cry’.

The music video for ‘Temporary’ dropped yesterday (3 October) and Eminem appears to sob when he sees his daughter Hailie Jade in her wedding dress.

Released back in July, the track is from The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) and includes a heartbreaking message to his 28-year-old daughter in the event of his death.

Eminem fans know the star has included Hailie in much of his music, never shying away from the regret of not being around when she was growing up.

And this new video shows just how much of an effort he’s evidently made to be a loving father figure to the podcast host.

We’re shown various clips of a young Hailie growing up, right up to her wedding day earlier this year and the moment he’s told he’s going to be a grandad.

Hailie married Evan McClintock back in May and announced the news around the time on social media.

The ‘Temporary’ video shows more of that special day as a black suited and booted Marshall Bruce Mathers III walks in to see his daughter dressed up in her white gown and veil.

Eminem looks massively proud as he removes his shades to give her a hug before being lost for words. And totally overcome by emotion, the rapper appears to let out a few sobs while looking at his grown up, bride-to-be daughter.

We also get to see them sharing another sweet moment before walking her down the aisle, Hailie handing Eminem a gift bag and card and the pair sharing a dad-and-daughter dance at the wedding reception.

Fans were quick to comment: “The hardest rapper alive is crying. I am crying right now.”

As others said it was ‘the most human thing’ they’ve ever seen.

“Eminem just made millions of fathers cry their eyes out,” another fan added.

One even said: “Eminem crying is the last thing I expected to see… Dad and daughter bond is truly amazing… Loved this song.”

And as the rapper included the news he’s becoming a granddad towards the end of the music video, another wrote: “It wasn’t Slim Shady, Eminem, or Marshall, it was father to daughter. Can’t wait for the follow up song for his grandchild soon to come! Congratulations.”

Hailie Jade is more than just Eminem’s daughter

Hailie Jade has spoken out about what bothers her most about being Eminem’s daughter, and it turns out that it’s being asked about being Eminem’s daughter.

The 28-year-old has for basically her entire life had a famous rapper for a father, but she’s got a life of her own.

Speaking on her Just a Little Shady podcast, she explained that the question most people wanted to ask was: “Does it bother me when I get asked about my dad?”

She said: “The best way to say this is yes and no.

“It’s to a point. I obviously expect it and there are certain things I can understand why people are just genuinely curious about as anyone would be when you’ve grown up half in the spotlight.

“Once it gets past that point though I’m like ‘I’m a person too, I think I have more to offer than just my dad’. So it becomes tricky, I get it.

“I feel like growing up when it would happen I would get more bothered by it because I was like ‘why do people care’.

“I was young and didn’t totally understand the situation. I’m just like ‘that’s my dad, I don’t ask you about your dad’.”

Hailie explained that she could understand why people would ask about ‘things that have been a little bit shared’, but said there were certain things she’d been asked were she found it weird someone would want to know that.

The 28-year-old said that looking back on her life, there were times when she thought ‘oh, everybody else does this too’ but later realised that some parts of it were ‘freaking weird, looking back on it’.

Hailie also gets mentioned plenty in her father’s new album, The Death of Slim Shady.

She’s been included in his music a lot, including the diss track ‘Hailie’s Revenge’ where he fired back at some of Ja Rule’s lyrics.

In his latest album, his song ‘Temporary’ addresses her and lets her know it’ll be okay when he dies, and it’s put a tear in many an Eminem fan’s eye.

In another track, ‘Somebody Save Me’, the rapper addresses Hailie and his family from an alternate reality where he’d died of an overdose that came very close to killing him in 2007.

He’s also evidently not afraid to poke lyrical fun at his own kids from time to time either, as the song ‘Houdini’ has him singing ‘f**k my own kids, they’re brats’.

Eminem’s daughter Hailie Jade has shared a glimpse into her childhood, explaining the one thing she never did while she was growing up.

Hailie, 28, recently launched her own podcast, Just A Little Shady.

In the first episode, she opened up about her time at high school, and how growing up in a famous family impacted her behaviour.

Hailie spoke about her childhood on her podcast.

Hailie was born back in 1995, when Eminem was in his early twenties.

The rapper went on to struggle with drugs and alcohol, and has since opened up about just how bad things became in the early noughties.

After his first admission to rehab in 2005, Eminem explained that he nearly overdosed after taking some blue pills, not knowing what they actually contained.

It turns out he’d taken methadone, which is a man-made opioid. The amount he consumed was equivalent to ‘four bags of heroin’.

“My doctor told me the amount of methadone I’d taken was equivalent to shooting up four bags of heroin,” he told VIBE magazine.

“I probably wouldn’t have taken it. But as bad as I was back then, I can’t even say 100 percent for sure.”

It’s not clear whether Eminem’s struggles with substance abuse impacted Hailie, but the podcast host explained how she never wanted to even be associated with anyone who was drinking as a teen.

“I didn’t drink or go to parties, everyone was doing that, but I didn’t. I was so naive to all of it,” she said.

“I remember going to a football game, it was freezing cold outside, everyone was having the time of their lives, and I was like ‘am I missing something?’

“One of my friends came up to me and was talking right in my face, and I was like, ‘you’re drinking’. Literally so appalled. It hit me in that moment.

“I thought that even being associated with anyone there that was drinking I was gonna get in trouble.”

Hailie explained that she never actually got in trouble growing up, or ever did anything to warrant being told off.

“I was so straight and narrow,” she added.

Hailie, who co-hosts the podcast with her friend Brittany Ednie, also recalled a time when she invited her friend on to her dad’s tour bus, thinking it was something everyone’s dad had.

“I feel like I vividly remember being in your kitchen and you were like ‘do you want to come on the tour bus?” said Brittany.

“I thought it was normal!” Hailie added.

Eminem also has two other children – Stevie Laine, 21 and Alaina Marie, 30, who are both adopted by the rapper.

While Eminem is known to a be a pretty beloved dad to his daughter, some trolls have slammed her for the lack of his presence on her social media.

Hailie has became a bit of a star in her own right, hosting the popular Just A Little Shady podcast since the summer of 2022.

The first episode was about growing up as the daughter of a rap icon, but she discusses all sorts of her life and pop culture in the series.

Fans will know Eminem is a hardcore fan of his hometown NFL team, the Detroit Lions, who suffered a tough loss during Sunday’s NFC Championship game.

After the game, the ‘Without Me’ rapper took to X to say: “So proud of the @lions. Thanks 4 an amazing season!!!! We’ll b back!!!”

And being a fan of the team runs in the family it seems, as Hailie also shared a post to Instagram celebrating the Lions.

She shared various snaps with the caption: “Until next season,” wearing merch for the Detroit team at the stadium with friends.

But with fans knowing her dad was also at the game, there seems to be some confusion as to why he doesn’t feature in her post.

Some accused her for not showing her as they slammed: “Stop hiding your old man,” and said: “She’s been at the lions games these past days but never with her pops? Sh**’s crazy.”

But fans were quick to defend her as they simply wrote back in the comments: “Y’all need to get a life and leave Hailie alone.”

Another put: “Just because she doesn’t post photos with him doesn’t mean she isn’t with him. She doesn’t have to display him on her Instagram.”

And while some accused her of ‘acting like her father isn’t the reason for everything she had’, many pointed out: “It’s what fathers do mate provide for their kids.. don’t be jealous be better buddy. She was literally sat next to him the other game at the Ford Field, they were shown on the big screen.”

Others also praised both Eminem and Hailie as they said: “A man that has his daughter by his side is so very commendable.

“I love him. I love her now too that I’ve been watching her podcast and tutorials. Also not to take away their spotlight is wonderful. Hats off to you, Em.”
